Where do I even begin with magic the gathering? To start, I first learned of it back in 2004, having played and grown sick of other card games around during that time. I went into the local model's hobby shop and noticed two people standing at a table, playing these cards that I'd never seen before. I managed to pick myself up a starter deck (fifth dawn sunburst deck link here) and started to play. I played fairly regularly for about two years, before giving it up and moving onto video games as my main source of joy, but those magic cards sat in a shoebox in the back of my closet. Nearly ten years later, I was just starting university and hanging out with my classmates at their place when one of them casually mentioned playing some magic the gathering. From there, I was once again hooked, and I haven't really left the game since.
